Below are some of the most asked questions we get regarding your tires:
Q. Can I drive on a flat tire?
A. It is not recommended that you drive on a tire that does not have run flat technology. Tires with this technology have reinforced sidewalls that support the load of the vehicle for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50MPH. Standard tires do not have this technology.
Q. What are the causes of center tread wear?
A. Possible causes include over-inflation for load carried, rim width too narrow, misapplication, improper tire rotation practices, aggressive acceleration or under inflation for certain tire types.
Q. What can cause One-Sided Shoulder Wear?
A. A variety of conditions can cause uneven tire wear such as front or rear wheel misalignment, loose or worn out suspension components, hard cornering, improper rotation practices, misapplication or non-unified mounting.
Q. What could be causing my tires to make loud noises?
A. Noise is most commonly due to uneven wear pattern that has developed on the tires. Improper rotation practices are the leading cause to uneven wear.
Q. What is Cupping?
A. Cupping can be attributed to worn out suspension parts, wheel misalignment or an imbalance of the tire/wheel assembly. Once cupping has occurred, it is irreversible and the tires will continue to wear unevenly.
Q. What should I do if I notice vibration?
A. Vibration is an indicator that your car has a problem that requires attention. The tires, steering system and suspension system should be checked to help determine the problem. If left unattended the vibration could cause excessive tires and suspension wear.
Q. What should I do if my vehicle is pulling to one side?
A. Your vehicle pulling to one side is often caused by misalignment of your wheels. A vehicle alignment is required to re-align your wheels. If your tires are evenly worn and the alignment is correct and there still is a pull, the front tires should be criss-crossed (as long as your tires are not a directional tread design) to see if the pull changes directions.
